Role: Market Research Intern

Duration: 2-3 months

Key Responsibilities

  1. CPG Market Research (Retail, Modern Trade, Online)

    • Conduct primary and secondary research to gather insights on consumer buying behavior, especially within the retail, modern trade, and online channels.

    • Develop surveys, conduct interviews, or gather online data as needed to understand purchasing trends, preferences, and pain points in the CPG market.

    • Summarize findings in presentations and reports to support strategic decision-making.

  2. Competitive Analysis and Benchmarking

    • Perform in-depth analysis of competitor brands in the market, identifying key players, product offerings, and positioning strategies.

    • Benchmark against competitors across pricing, quality, marketing tactics, and sales channels.

    • Create comparative reports that highlight competitive advantages and areas for improvement.

  3. Category Expansion Research

    • Conduct SWOT and STP (Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning) analysis to explore potential for category expansion within the CPG space.

    • Perform market sizing to assess opportunities in specific categories and subcategories.

    • Assist in building out new category profiles by evaluating consumer demand, profitability, and competitive landscape.

Desired Skills and Attributes

  • Strong analytical and research skills.

  • Ability to work independently on data collection and analysis.

  • Familiarity with market research techniques, data visualization, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Effective communication skills to present insights clearly.

Expected Outcomes

By the end of the internship, we expect:

  • Comprehensive reports on consumer buying behaviors.

  • Competitive analysis decks with actionable recommendations.

  • Detailed expansion research, including SWOT/STP and category market sizing.
